The new Ovid Cabernet blend “Experiment N3.8” 2018 delivers a luxuriously smooth blend of bold and rich dark fruit + delightfully fresh tannins that provide sublime enjoyment now and bode well for pleasure for at least another decade. This Cabernet blend contains a dollop of Merlot which adds rich mocha and bakers chocolate flavors as well as spicy Cabernet Franc for an exotic thrill on the zesty finish. The core palate displays traditional notes of blackberry, cola, dark cherry, plum, pipe tobacco, cocoa and caramel.
Bursting aromatics of honeydew, honeysuckle and ripe peach are complemented by a hint of jasmine, pineapple and cream. With lots of weight and viscosity, the full-bodied palate brims with ripe stone fruit, wet stone and a touch of sweet Meyer lemon. The fleshy, golden mid-palate evolves into a pointed, textured finish that closes with lots of minerality.
The Cabernet Sauvignon harvested from this vintage is a fantastic example of a Bordeaux style blend hitting all the right notes. Seamless with Espresso, blueberry, anise, and violet notes, structural silky tannins working in harmony for a long, balanced finish.
Lodi Zinfandel is pale ruby in color and filled with aromas of juicy raspberry, tobacco and toasted oak on the nose. Medium bodied and food-friendly, flavors of blackberry, plum and clove lead to a balanced, oak-inspired finish.
Gnarly Vine Zinfandel is a big, deep wine with intense aromas of blackberries, vanilla and pepper that leads to a fusion of fruit flavors, including blackberry pie, cranberry and black currant. The fruit blends with layers of spice notes ranging from fresh peppercorns to clove and mulled spices. The wine is full-bodied, vibrant and robust, balanced by velvety tannins and distinctive minerality that is characteristic of Monte Rosso’s iron-rich volcanic soils. The extraordinarily long and luxurious finish concludes with rich hints of vanilla and molasses.

Pale yellow in color, the 2020 Arroyo Vista Chardonnay exhibits intriguing aromas of paperwhites, Meyer lemon, ripe apple, white peach, brioche, and crème brûlée. The rich palate texture is derived from the use of classic Burgundian techniques, such as primary and malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels and weekly stirring of the lees during aging.
The 2018 Phoenix is a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc and was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, 80% new. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the nose is redolent of warm plums, black cherries and black raspberries with suggestions of garrigue, menthol, pencil lead and roses. Medium-bodied, velvety and with great freshness, the palate delivers vibrant, crunchy fruit and a good long, mineral-tinged finish.
Currant, plum and black raspberry aromas are intermingled with a mélange of black pepper, nutmeg, and whisper of dried herbs. The aromas flow through to similar flavors on the palate. Sweet oak pulls it all together, complementing the lush textures.

The palate is round and sublimely textured, with flavors of red fruits, black fig, cocoa powder and baking spices in an effortless balance.
