How about something big and red for the weekend to go with your Sunday meal? We have a couple of gorgeous examples of what Pomerol is capable of.
Ronon by Clinet 2012 @ £12.95
Year on year, the attention to detail given to this mini Clinet draws closer to the Grand Vin. The wine is rich, round, open and expressive. Loaded with black a red fruit with a beautiful texture. Delicious on its own would be a fantastic accompaniment to roast lamb or grilled red meats.
Fleur de Clinet 2010 @ £27.95
Dark ruby in colour, the fantastic scent on the nose gives notes of the greatest Pomerol wines, complex yet fresh aromas of raspberry, blackberry, black pepper, Earl Grey tea and lavender. Very silky tannins mixed with lush flavours of red fruit prolong its expression on the palate, with its intensity lingering with hints of spice, liquorice and brown sugar.
Both of these are a lovely accompaniment to anything big and meaty... maybe a barbecue is in order...
Cheers!
