As you all probably know, September is harvest time in the European world of wine and in Champagne they have had a cracking season. Between the end of August and the end of September is harvest time and throughout Champagne producers have been celebrating the fantastic weather over the summer. A lovely balance of rain and sun has created the perfect conditions to grow grapes in the way they should be grown and have ended with wonderful acidity.

The general French harvest has been good too. A dry and warm summer has ended up causing this vintage to be hailed as potentially one of the best vintages in a long time, possibly the best of the century. Of course they won't know anything until they taste the wines, but the key characteristics point to an absolutely outstanding vintage with yields slightly lower than last year but with truly amazing quality.

Here at Grand Cru Co, we've had an amazing response to our wine tasting evenings. All tickets are now completely sold out until November, so if you do want to take part you need to get in contact with us as soon as possible to make sure you get your place!

We have also had a number of customers book in for private tastings which we are very happy to be able to provide.
