A Vielles Vignes Gevrey-Chambertin crafted by one of the most renowed family owned winery in all Burgundy.
Gevrey-Chambertin is the greatest designation in Côte de Nuits, a vineyard which stretches out from Dijon to Corgoloin, in the North of Beaune.
It almost exclusively produces red wines, all of them remarkable for their firmness, great elegance, bouquet, sumptuous color and long growth.
The Domaine Géantet Pansiot in Burgundy is currently run by Vincent Géantet, who is the third generation of vignerons in his family.
The vineyards are run according to lutte raisonée, with no herbicides, just one or two anti-disease chemical treatments.
The wines are matured in barrel for 15 months, with a couple of stirrings but no racking. 30% new wood is used on every cuvée, from Bourgogne Rouge to this Gevrey-Chambertin.
'A relatively expressive nose of wild red berries, blue berry liqueur and earth undertones that are also reflected by the bigger and notably more robust medium-bodied flavors blessed with ample amounts of extract and an attractive touch of minerality on the seriously long and ever-so-mildly austere finish.
