Errazuriz Aconcagua Costa Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Of a lovely pale yellow colour, with greenish reflections, the Aconcagua Costa single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is elegant and austere. Citric aromas of grapefruit and lime laced with notes of passion fruit and subtle hints of herbs and a leafiness are predominant on the nose. This very big wine feels dry and edgy on the palate, with great acidity and a light mineral flavour that gives it nerve and freshness.

Viña Errázuriz has been producing the highest quality Chilean wines for more than 130 years. Don Maximiano Errázuriz founded Viña Errázuriz in 1870 in the Valle de Aconcagua, Today, the tradition of quality lives on with Don Maximiano’s descendant, Eduardo Chadwick. Eduardo is the fifth generation of his family to be involved in the wine business.

The grapes for this 2014 single vineyard Aconcagua Costa Sauvignon Blanc came from the Manzanar vineyard, located 12 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean. Here we can find the ideal characteristics for growing cold-climate grape varieties with an average temperature of 18.6ºC in January. The vines ,at an altitude between 100 and 200 meters above sea level, are planted on a  clay-loam texture soil, which is placed over a stratum of weathered parent rock of volcanic origin and schist. The vineyards are drip irrigated and trained to a vertical shoot position.
