The 2020 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes offers awesome aromatics, full-bodied richness, a round, lush, yet pure mouthfeel, and ripe yet certainly present tannins. It’s loaded with Provençal, garrigue, and peppery goodness, and it’s going to be a brilliant value. This cuvée is an 80/20 split of Grenache and Mourvèdre raised all in foudre.
An unforgettable and totally brilliant wine that could come from no other terroir – and no other producer. The aromas of citrus oils and ripe citrus fruits are not overly toasty or oaky. There's a little touch of barley sugar and lavender honey that leads into a very full-bodied, rich and mouthcoating palate, with citrus oil viscosity. Importantly, this has well-balanced acidity along with an inner tension and a long saline finish. Very powerful, yet perfectly balanced, which is quite a feat. 100/100
Roc Epine red is a powerful and robust wine, it offers a complex nose of cinnamon, cooked fruits and morello cherries. While the palate expresses vanilla and peppers which persist until the final. It is a supple and rich wine with a very good length.
Playing on the delicacy of the vintage, the cuvée "Les Contours de Mairlant" displays beautifully fruity notes and carried by a feeling of mineral freshness and subtly toasted. The mouth is balanced on a combination of fat / tension of the most enticing. A vintage of pure pleasure.
Deep, dark and dense red color. An intense nose of red and black berries and spice. A beautiful composition, with silky tannins, power and elegance. Expressive, noble and complete. Pair with red meats either grilled or cooked in sauces, game birds, or aged cheeses.
This exudes class, richness and concentration of flavour in this outstanding Rhône vintage. Full-bodied, richly textured, ripe and long with more than a hint of spice .
Orange marmalade, quince, salty minerality, white flowers, celery seed, and a touch of spice all emerge from the 2019 Saint Joseph Les Granits Blanc, which comes from one of the top terroirs in the appellation. Playing in the more full-bodied end of the spectrum, this incredible Saint-Joseph Blanc has a rounded, layered texture, a terrific sense of freshness and purity, classic Marsanne structure, and a great finish.
This wine is ruby red in colour with purple hints. On the nose, there are notes of blackcurrant, strawberry and blackberry. On the palate, the tannins are round and soft, well-balanced and fruit forward. The softness and finesse of the 5% Viognier creates a wine that is more powerful and full bodied than a simple Syrah.
"As always, the 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape sees a small amount of stems, and the blend is 60% Grenache, 15% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, and the rest an assortment of varieties. Red currants, lavender, salty minerality, nori, and plenty of peppery garrigue notes emerge from the glass. It's medium to full-bodied, has the sunny, sexy style of the vintage, yet also builds nicely on the palate, with ripe yet present tannins."
