Guillaume Drouin is a quali ed oenologist and agronomist. After acquiring experience in the elds of wine-making and rum he joined the family business in 2004. Working with his father on the aging of calvados, he took part in the creation of the company's great blends while looking for new product ranges that would highlight original aromatic associations.

Guillaume is a man full of curiosity and enthusiasm. His passion for the world of avours, tasting and the art of blending soon led him towards a new creation, that of a Gin based on the apples from his orchards. Thanks to its method of production and the number of aromatic substances that compose it, this Gin is without any doubt the spirit that offers the broadest possible spectre of composition: an almost in nite eld for creativity, a challenge both rich and fascinating in the search for symbiosis between apples, juniper and aromatics of world-wide origin.

Hey, I'm sure I've heard of that wine before... isn't that the same gavi as before? Yes it certainly is but with a gorgeous new label! Let's have a bit of a read about our wine of the day...

Donato Lanati, one of Italy's best young consultants, began working with La Giustiniana at the beginning of 1998. His indelible stamp of quality has become increasingly evident in recent years. The changes wrought in the winery by Lanati are now being matched with the improvements being made in the vineyard, where better grapes are giving purer, richer and better balanced wines. The entire estate covers 110 hectares in the heart of the commune of Rovereto in Gavi, of which 40 are under vine. Two single vineyard wines are produced, both of which are unoaked so the character of each vineyard shines through.

A straw yellow wine with hints of green. Lightly perfumed with fresh green apples and pears on the nose. The palate is riper with ripe, golden apples, fresh almonds and honey but still has the characteristic lively twist on the finish found in good Gavi.

We've had this crowd-pleaser for a long time and think it's here to stay for the moment! Cheers!

Next up in our showcase of new wines we have the Field Street Shiraz from S. C. Pannell. This Aussie Shiraz will be one you won't forget in a hurry...

Endless customers have asked about this illusive wine as it's name certainly proceeds it. Truly fantastic quality for a rather low price...

In 2010 Felice Mergè, guided by his father Armando’s experience, buys and restores a building long known as the Cooperativa Comunale dei Produttori di Erchie, active since 1949. Renamed Masca del Tacco, the building is brought back to its original rural splendor but at the same time enriched with the latest equipment and innovative production techniques, aimed to produce the best wine quality without losing its traditional nature.

The warmth of the land and the sea influx of the Salentina peninsula, the hard-working hands of farmers, the weather: these factors result in extremely characterized wines by Masca del Tacco.

Today I thought maybe something Italian today seeing as we have the most beautiful weather, need something to match the day, you see! This should be a great fit...

Valentino Sciotti (of Vesevo, Gran Sasso and other Farnese estates) took over this small co-operative in Basilicata in Acerenza in the heart of the Aglianico del Vulture zone in 2008. Consultant winemaker Alberto Antonini works with Manuel Barbone, and together they manage to capture the character of the grapes and the zone superbly in the bottle.

The vineyards belonging to this estate are superb; low-trained and planted on the volcanic soils of the slopes of Mount Vulture at altitudes of up to 800 metres above sea level. The area is one of Italy's most remote and poorest. Isolated and uncontaminated it is, according to consultant winemaker Alberto Antonini, like stepping back in time a few centuries.

On arrival at the winery the grapes were destemmed and gently crushed then the must fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at temperatures up to 30-32°C. Frequent, gentle pumping over took place during fermentation and maceration which lasted approximately 30 days. Judicious oak influence softened the naturally high tannins after which the wine remained in tank until bottling.
